The Darnick Village Remembrance Day Service will be on Sunday 12th November at 3.00pm.
This year the act of Remembrance will be led by Rev Philip Blackledge, of Abbotsford Road, Rector at Holy Trinity Church, High Cross Avenue. After the first part of the service in the Village Hall, wreaths will be laid at the two War Memorials outside.
After many years attending the service to play the Lament, Drew Ness is retiring as piper. Also stepping down is Ross Thomson from his role of reciting the Tryst. We thank them both most sincerely for their parts in the Darnick Remembrance service over the years.
After the service, villagers will be most welcome to return to the Hall for refreshments.
