Darnick Village Hall is the centre piece of the village and village life. Formerly known as the Smith Memorial hall, it was gifted to the village by the Smith family and it is run under a deed of Trust by Trustees and is also a registered charity.
A history of the hall by local historian John Wood was published in 2018 and is available for download.
Booking and hiring of the hall is in the hands of the Hall Keeper (contact details below).
The hall is used for a variety of events – for a full list see the What’s On listing.
The Hall Trustees run the Darnick Village ‘100 Club’ which holds draws in March, May, July, October and Christmas. Chances for the year cost £12.50 each and are renewable during January and February when new members are welcome to join. This is an important part of village life as 50% of the income generated helps to fund ongoing maintenance and development of the hall as well as providing a contribution to the cost associated with other village activities. You are invited to join the ‘100 Club’ by contacting the organiser whose details are below.
The recently refurbished hall is also used at election time and for meetings.
